BIOGRAPHY – BIPASHA BASU

BIPASHA BASU was born on 5^th May 1979 in New Delhi, India. Her name means "Deep Dark Desire”. Bipasha Basu are three sisters. She is second she has one elder and one younger sister in her family. She is nick named ‘Bonny’ and ‘Bips’ by her family and friends. Bipasha was admitted in Science Stream till her Higher Secondary Education.

Her family moved to Kolkata, West Bengal, Bipasha then took interest in Chartered Accountancy through Commerce. She says that Acting was just by luck or a fluke. It just started when she was 17 years old and got a first chance to participate in the Godrej Super Model Contest. Luckily won the contest. She thanks to Mehr Jessia, one of the Famous Model in India that changed her life forever. She recognized Bipasha’s talent and guided her into Glamorous World of Modelling.

She is currently engaged to John Abraham, Before John Abraham, Bipasha had dated Actor Dino Morea.

Bipasha's debut film was Ajnabee in 2001 with Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol, film was a average hit she then appeared in Raaz and Jism.  Bipasha's film Jism was a bold film. Bipasha was later marked as a Sex Symbol.

Her performance in No Entry in 2005 was good. In 2006, she won popular acclaim for her performance in an Item number during the song Beedi in the film Omkara.
 

In 2008 Bipasha Basu acted in Race, with Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, She was also appreciated for her role in Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
 

Bipasha had won Filmafare Awards for all her work in the category of Filmfare Best Debut Award Female for Ajnabee in 2001, Filmfare Best Actress Award for Raaz in 2002 and Filmfare Best Villain Award for Jism in 2003.
