BIOGRAPHY – KAJOL
Kajol was born on 5th
August 1975 in Mumbai, India. Kajol belongs to a
Bengali family with a mind-blowing acting career in the Film
Industry. Her Mother ‘Tanuja’ was also an Actress including her father
Mr. Shomu Mukherjee. Her cousin sister Rani Mukherjee and Sharbani Mukherjee
and cousin brother Monish Bhel have also contributed a lot to the Bollywood
Industry. Her aunt Nutan , grand mother’s like Shobhna Samarth and Rattan
Bai was a great Actress and the Twinkling stars of the Indian Film Industry
at their times. Tanisha, who had recently started her Acting career is the
younger sister of Kajol. Joy Mukherjee and Deb Mukherjee have an
uncle-nephew relationship, with Kajol. Sashadhar Mukherjee, Kajol’s
paternal grandfather was a film director, a producer who had left a great
remembrance of his work in the film industry. Kajol’s paternal grandmother
and Sashadar Mukherjee’s wife,
Satirani Devi was the alone sister of the three great Kumar’s of the
Industry, Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar.
Kajol belongs to a Bengali – Marathi Ascent. Kajol completed her education
and passed on her acting career at age of sixteen .By industry standard
Kajol has not appeared in many movies since her debut. Her first debut film
was Bekhudi in 1992. Kajol has married to actor Ajay Devgan on February 24th
,1999. From 1992 to 2006, she had acted only in twenty-six movies plus
having some share of flops. But some of her movies are Bollywood’s extreme
successful movies such as Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham (’01) in which she
received several awards for Best Actress. Taking five years break from
acting , Kajol gave birth to her daughter Nysa, in April (03)’. Kajol had
also gave her special appearance for merely seconds in movie Kal Ho Na Ho
(’03). However she made her back in film Fanaa, released in May 2006,with
a critically acclaimed performance. Kajol is also known for her fantastic screen chemistry with King of Bollywood-Shahrukh Khan. In facts, some of the movies in which they have been starred as a lead couple have become successful: Baazigar (’93), Karan Arjun(’94),Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (’95),Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (’98) and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham (’01). She has been the first female actor to win the Filmfare Best Villain Award, for her performance in movie Gupt: The Hidden Truth (’97). She is even the first actor to receive the same award for same film from the Zee Cine Awards in 1998.She has also appeared on the TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Kajol was paired with her husband Ajay Devgan and won 1 core rupees, which was donated to a cancer hospital in Chennai. Awards:
Kajol received her first Award in 1996 for the Blockbuster hit film
‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (1995) in the category of Filmfare Best
Actress Award. Then in 1998 she received Filmfare Best Villain Award for the
film ‘Gupt: The Hidden Truth’ (1997). She was also awarded Best Actress
in a Negative Role for ‘Gupt’ in Zee cinema Awards in same year. In 1998
she had also received Star Screen Awards in the category of Best Actress for
the film ‘Dushman’. In 1999, Kajol received four major Awards for her
work, talent and ability from the Bollywood Industry.
First was the Filmfare Best Actress Award, secondly was Zee Cine Award for
Best Actor – Female, thirdly was the Aashirwad Best Actress Awards and at
last was Bollywood Best Actress Awards for the movie ‘Kuch Kuch Hota
Hai’ (1998). Kajol had also received Sansui Viewer’s choice Awards in
the nomination of Best Actress in the Bollywood Industry in 1999. She was
also honoured an Excellence Active Award at 5th Annual Rajiv
Gandhi Award in 2002. She also received Star Best Screen Jodi Award with
Shah Rukh Khan in 2002 for the film ‘Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham’. In 2002
Kajol also received Zee Cine Special Award for her Outstanding Performance,
Filmfare Best Actress Award and Star Screen Best Actress Award for the
blockbuster hit film ‘Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham’.
