BIOGRAPHY – SHAMITA SHETTY

       Shamita Shetty was born on 2^nd February 1979 in Mumbai, India. Shamita is born to Mr. Surendra Shetty and Mrs. Sunanda Shetty. Shamita parent’s were professionally Models but for a sort period of time. Shamita has an elder sister, Shilpa Shetty who is also an Actress by Profession and very popular too. Shamita dropped out from Sydenham College in Mumbai in the F.Y. Shamita completed a diploma course in Fashion Design from SNDT.

          Shamita made her debut in the year 2000 with the blockbuster film “MOHABBATEIN”. This film was based on the love stories of six youths who find their guide in the form of the Bollywood king ‘Shah Rukh Khan’. The film was also starring ravishing ‘Amitabh Bachchan’, who played a sort of non-believer of love. The film was a hit but it was mainly focused on the two main characters of the film firstly Actor Shah Rukh Khan and Multiple star, Amitabh Bachchan. However, through this film she had established in the film industry. After this big hit she went on to do many item songs, such as the huge hit ‘Sharara’ in “MERE YAAR KI SHAADI HAI”.

       Shamita then began to get roles, which would showcase her acting ability, such as the film “WAJAHH: A Reason to Kill” and the film “BEWAFAA” in which she played a negative role. Her best performance has been in the 2005 hit film “ZEHER”, further enhancing her in Bollywood. Shamita went on to star in the film “FAREB” with her sister, which was received averagely in India.
