Sunny Deol was born in New Delhi, India, to veteran actor Dharmendra and
Prakash Kaur. Sunny Deol born as Ajay Singh Deol changed gears with
different roles in several movies. He has a younger brother, Bobby Deol, who
is also an actor, and two half-sisters, Esha Deol, an actress and Ahana Deol,
from his father's re-marriage to famous actress Hema Malini. He always
wanted to be an actor but being the son of the famous actor, Dharmendra, it
was difficult being treated normal, so he went to England to study acting.
He joined theater called the Old Web Theater in Brimingham, England where he
studied theatre and acting. By the time he came back to India, he was ready
to face the camera.
Sunny made his debut as a teenage romantic hero in Betaab with debutante
actress Amrita Singh. Action roles seemed to be his forte, but he also tried
his hand at romantic roles in movies like Sohni Mahiwal and Imtihaan. From
romantic hero to the rebellious, unemployed angry young man out to get
justice, the blockbuster Ghayal established Sunny as the action hero in
Bollywood.
Sunny Deol is married to Pooja Deol. The couple have two sons together,
Rajvir and Ranvir Deol. The names which he chose for himself and Bobby Deol
in his directorial debut Dillagi. Their have been many rumours linking Sunny
Deol to many of his co-stars but none of those rumours affected their
marriage. They are happilly married and live close to their extended family
in Mumbai, India. Rumoured to have had an affair with Dimple Kapadia.
Sunny Deol was also acclaimed for his performances in movies like
Damini, Arjun and Jeet.
Sunny Deol was another puny star son, written off even before the first
movie was released. Father Dharmendra's launchpad for his eldest son - Sunny
Deol. Not much was expected from these quarters as one had seen quite a few
great falls. Remember Kunal Goswami, Kumar Gaurav...? Besides critics
believed that he wouldn't measure up to the standards of his illustrious
father.
AS A DIRECTOR :
Sunny Deol has also tried his hand at direction with the (1999) film Dillagi

wasn't a box Office success. For now, Sunny has his hands full and more home
productions seems to be in the offering.
